Still getting the scrapbook stuff sorted, and learning how to use iPhoto (I may just install the HP software that was included, anyway), so it's still a bit wonky, but there ya go.

Finally got Lacuna Coil's Karmacode at Target last night (only been looking at places like Best Buy for ages now).

And speaking of karma, I'm pleasantly surprised. It would be selfish to assume it was my karma, so I'll chalk it up to the new guy at McDonald's, but after a good 15 minutes of badly-suppressed panic, my left-behind purse was not only NOT stolen, it wasn't even noticed where I'd left it. Sweet.

(Because really, no one wants to make that call to Visa trying to explain that yes, you did buy that expensive camera, but not THAT one, or THAT one, or THAT one...)

Fscking sweet, man.

I had forgotten just how deliciously good it feels to finish a book that was read for pleasure instead of for some class requirement. (Obviously, this excludes such tomes as are enjoyable while occupying both realms.)

Naamah, just for that, your NEXT box is going to be twice as big. Or something. I will be plotting something, I will. And I really need to find out where to get another couple of dirty 'heads-tails' coins, after reading Kushiel's Chosen. Hm. (I'll take pictures later.)


And now, onto book three! *dances* And at some point, I'll get the fourth one, if it's out (hopefully paperback, I'm one of those odd folks who really despise hardcover; too unwieldy for curling up in bed to read).

A note on Carey's style; while the grammar and syntax feel foreign to me in their somewhat un-colloquial formality, the entire text reads as an anguisette's patronage, with a rather jarring start after the brief fare of introduction, painfully ongoing middle (I can't be the only one shouting for SOME reprieve from the unending angst, can I?), and at the very tail end, quite a pleasant conclusion (because we all love a good orgasm Happily Ever Afters).

Probably not the first analysis as such, but I feel rather proud of myself for noticing, given that I have no skill in the lit-crit department beyond what's presented at face value.

If I liked sex half as much as I liked books, I suspect I would have hopped over to House Valerian by now. Hm. [Dear Libido, that's food for thought, you ever-absent little wench.]
