Mmmf. Stupid toothache. I can't tell if it's a possible cavity or simply sleeping wrong (I toss and turn a bit, and usually end up sleeping with a lot of pressure on my chin part of the night).  A small stain that LOOKS like a cavity that's been there forever-and-a-day isn't helping, either.

In other news, I've spent WAY TOO MUCH money. Whoops. Blew $80 at B&N last night (I had gone in plotting about $45 or so), went to Mitsuwa and bought some kimono books that were cheap individually (I don't always have good cause-and-effect processes - just because that mook on yukata was $10 doesn't mean the other 5-basquillion $10 books I'm also clutching will total under $$$$ at checkout), and then there's the trouble of Giftmas/Christmahanukwanzikaa presents. Love to get 'em, love to give 'em, hell if I can FIND any that folks want. Oy.  [Puppy, you didn't give me any clues and I finished shopping for you. You'd better like it, damnit, because it's all I could figure out.]

Naamah, as soon as payday hits Friday, I plan on sending you a care package of candles and blankets and space food. If you or Sargon see this - let me know what you need. It may or may not get there in time for this fiasco of weather fun, but if there's (for some godawful reason) another one...

One more have-to-take final, one more see-what-happens final (grade dropped anyway, most likely), and then I'm DONE with this semester, and after next week, I will have weeknights to myself until January! (And even then, just tea until the end of the month, when I'm back to the M-Tu-W evening classes. But I'll have Thursday evenings free, which is nice.)

Started some writing again - mostly chickenscratch and tidbits - but it feels good to grab a pen and scribble until there's no ink left.

Sometime in the last three weeks I've managed to lose 4 pounds or so (I think - I haven't weighed myself in a good long while because it's become an exercise in futility) presumably from being sick and losing most of my appetite. And I haven't got quite as much of my appetite back, either - I'm satisfied with half a sandwich now, rather than the whole one, only one or two cups of coffee a day, etc. I've actually forgotten to eat dinner on more than one occasion, because I simply wasn't hungry. It feels good, honestly; I like being able to look at food and not instantly want a double-portion. I'm also hoping that I can lose a decent amount of weight (10-15-ish pounds) and keep it off, because things like kimono will fit miles better. The less I flash people in the tea room because both the kimono and the underwear don't close properly, the better. [Note to self: add LL or larger wrap-around slip in a gaudy color to Kyoei shopping list.]

Also, I had an idea for obidome: the tab closures that are found on some pants. One positioned up, one positioned down (or both positioned downward, but then it would be easy to accidentally knock the obidome off as well as being easy to slip onto the obijime). Also, for the larger tabs, the bars they slide into would also work as backings (perhaps with some creative work using a needlenose pliers). Hm. *ponderponder* It would only work on the flat obijime, but most of the formal ones are like that anyway.  I haven't figured out how to *attach* any of this yet, but at least the idea's there. I may find decorative beads and buttons and make a fabric backing or something. Easier than buying and learning how to use a resin melt'n'pour kit from the craft store. [Tangent: I saw a book on polymer clay at the store last night and O-M-G!! do I ever want to get a stack of that stuff and learn how to do it!]
