The cable guy came out, gave us a shiny new modem, and found out that not only was the modem crap, but the actual cable line is damaged down where it's installed at ground level, so we're getting spotty, 50% signal. They'll come back Tuesday (supposedly, given the last time it took a while... not so sure) and repair the line itself. [By encasing it in a pipe, something they should have done in the first place. Ah well.]
