Crazy week.

Busy weekend. o.o:

Thought I'd be lazy tonight only to get home to Mom wanting to go out, so we (BF, Mom, and myself) went to a chinese buffet that always has lines out the door. Good food, not so good atmosphere (ill-behaved children can ruin any experience, and this place was chock-full of under-8s running amok, shouting, wrestling, shoving other patrons out of their way... I just about clocked one kid, since no one else seemed keen on pointing out the line he'd crossed some time prior...).

Mom's b-day is (well, today now) tomorrow, so she wants to do stuff, which means I need to make some phone calls and run errands tomorrow (today... it's late o.O) in the morning. This may include a desperately needed haircut and possible dye job, time permitting.

Sunday is Father's Day. You'd *think* I'd remember something like that, but clearly, commercialized holidays don't sink in well. [Hell, despite the date being marked on the calendar both at home and work -- yey for importing holidays -- I STILL managed to forget about it until the BF reminded me.] Mom mentioned wanting to go to the grave site, but... it's her thing more than mine, I guess.

And then we're back to Monday and work. I'm seriously debating getting myself a stack of books from the office Professional Development library to read in my free time -- classes today made it clear that however computer savvy I may be, I don't know my ass from my teakettle when it comes to details in the insurance industry, so most of the lessons were complete Greek to me (halp me, Brimmins!). Seriously, while I understand concepts like sales commissions and premiums, setting up a program to extrapolate specific numbers for a policy is a bit over my head (I could care less if Mr. Producer is entitled to ten percent or fifty, just tell me what to type in the DOS-based app that knows no backspace!).

So. Craaaaaazy.

And after some thugs knocked over every trash can in the neighborhood loudly at 3am* last night (which meant picking soggy garbage out of the gutter and putting it back in the cans before the trucks arrived), I'm tired. (And calling the local PD to request them to patrol next Thurs. pm - Fri am, but that's later.)

*It's probably just as well it took me a while to process what was disturbing my REM, because I'm Not Nice when awoken from a deep sleep by obnoxious people. I have no doubt that I'd have been out the front door with a baseball bat in a flash, had I been cognizant of the source of the noise sooner. It's also proof that the folks around here sleep like rocks, because no one seemed to bother getting up. I guess we all assume one another to be taking out the trash at some ungodly hour.
