So.

I do believe from now until Monday, I shall be running around like a crazy person. Or sewing like one - I've been drafted into the sweatshop of Ceridwen's Closet tonight, tomorrow night, and all day Sunday (probably noon-midnight). This isn't necessarily a bad thing, albeit exhausting, because I learn more and more about basic sewing and fabric skills every time I go. And hey, there's usually good music or movies and booze.

Saturday, Khlara, we may head out later if you're still interested in going to Anniversary - I have a shiny new obligation to go to Villa Park in full kimono at 11am. Basically, my new fairy godmother is the local head of the Tea chapter, because she decided that she was GIVING (as in, free) me a brand spankin' new o-kama furo set. The whole thing. With rings and everything. So Saturday morning is the formal thank-you process, where I show up with a fistful of crisp bills in a pretty envelope while sweating to death in a kimono that probably won't fit, and say thank you a whole heckuva lot in Japanese. Which then means that I won't be home until noonish, and will have to change and head out again for Anniversary (on the opposite side of Orange County). Given the sunburn this usually results in, less hours out there probably isn't such a bad thing.

Also, Lord_Sojourn, your pointy hat has been polished nicely.

You know, for all that the Harlequin romance novels are an easy and generally mindless read, the last two I've read were downright irritating. Women are not helpless sprites in need of rescue, and they shouldn't fall in love and acquiesce to some arrogant bastard that decides to treat her like an animal, bragging about training horses. *eyeroll* Seriously, how does this stuff sell? It can't be the descriptions of sex - those are downright dull. (And vague - has the author ever actually HAD sex?) [Though I did rather enjoy one line - "Those mewling things that come out looking like badly tanned, wrinkled leather? Those are babies." So true.]
