*insert long-winded rant about how America sucks and why We (royal) want to move to England, besides the gov-funded birth control*
Watching Iron Chef America. Morimoto vs. Puck.
All fine and good and a crappy remake but whatever, and we get to the tasting. Morimoto has spoken English whenever speaking to the camera, but when his dishes come up?
They DUB him in with a voice actor. He's speaking fukkin' English the WHOLE TIME!!
What the hell??! Imperialist, racist, Orientalistic bastards... *mutter* How tacky can you get? It's like the producers either went, a) "Ah, he has an accent, let's dub him in for clarity, but only at the end of the show so we leave a tidbit of our butchered Iron Chef Japan (dubbed!) heritage!" (And if that's the case, why not dub over Puck's German accent with some French guy. It's all the same, right?) or b) "Hey, he's Japanese! Japanese people speak with English voice-overs by voice actors who sound very, very white! That's cool and exotic, right?"
Man, I was hoping this would be a good show, too. >.< Now I know why I gave up watching television for 90 percent of my week.
