I am SO not ready for tomorrow's exam. I'm tired, I'm cranky, the homework I did to practice didn't stick with me at ALL... yeah. Work was hell, too. (Seriously, I know I wasn't in yesterday, but it FREAKS ME OUT when I realize someone has disturbed my cube space. Seriously. Freaks. Me. Out. And it was my manager, too. ;__; )

Oh, the Oil Cleansing Method update --
Keep in mind, Wednesday's headache clusterfuck skewed the results, since I went in the tub for no less than three deep-steam sessions to try and clear the pounding in my skull.

Also, I found out today just WHY my chin is a war zone, and it's not just my bad computer-user habit of resting my chin in one hand. It's that time of the month. So. The rest of my face doesn't look a whole lot different (the skin seems more moisturized, on average), and the blackheads aren't all that much smaller or less noticeable, since I have a penchant for exfoliation. So we'll see - I'll keep it up for another week, just to see how I do after the hormones have calmed down. I have swapped to a blackhead scrub for the a.m. shower, because I know I need the (gentle) exfoliation, and tonight and tomorrow night (and maybe the rest of the weekend) are salycilic acid toner treatments after the OCM (but before two drops of jojoba oil to moisturize lightly). I may go back to Mother's and try a different oil - Sweet Almond seems to be a bit too much in the moisture department, and Jojoba's working, but I heard that grapeseed had some astringency that might do some good as well. I'm not willing to spend $25 for a TINY 1-oz thing of rose hip oil serum for blemishes, especially if I don't know how it will work, but I do know of a site that sells a decently-sized bottle for under $10, and even after shipping, it's a better bargain. (Hooray for sites catering to bulk purchases!) I just might wind up mixing my own blend of oils for cleansing, once I get this figured out.

I got more makeup. I need to NOT order for another few weeks, now, limited editions notwithstanding. Seriously. x.x

On the up side, I'll be getting 4 hours of OT on Saturday. Yey. Sorta.

Hm.

Two nights now of Aromaleigh's Nocturne nighttime treatment, and there's no real improvement in my skin. On my chin, I have a new breakout, actually, though I don't know if that's from the treatment or something that was coming to the surface anyway. So far, I'm not sold, and I'm rather glad I didn't buy the full-size only to be disappointed. I hope the Vitamin C regimen items are better, because I'd really like to try those, but they're not available in sample sizes. Boo. (I do like the sponge applicator, though - it does apply makeup nicely, though it takes some getting used to.)

I would like to point out that their makeup items are FANTASTIC. But I have just-barely-controlled acne and a rather oily chin, so facial treatments are always a YMMV sort of thing. I really recommend ordering a few samples - their customer service and turnaround time is awesome. And hey, samples - you don't wind up with a full-sized makeup item that looks like crap on you just wasting space! If you do like it, you can order full-sized. :) And they have a ton of coupon offers. I would note that for the larger (kabuki, blush, powder) brush items, Sonia Kashuk brand at Target is a *little* less expensive but still decent quality. Otherwise, I have not found ANY brushes outside of a Michael's art supply store that are as nice for those prices. (Yes, I am using craft store paintbrushes for some of my makeup. They work just dandy and they're on clearance for $2.) Also, they have forums for customers and we can post pictures and whatnot. Fun times. I'm on there using my SCA name.

Anyway. Lazy morning - I woke up at 9-ish, for all I went to sleep at 3, and lay in bed until my stomach decided I was too hungry to stay any longer. (Which is ironic given that I ate a bit too much last night and probably hit the 1800 calorie mark when I'm aiming for 1300. Oops.)

And now I'm back in bed. Yay for laptops with (picky, finicky, on-and-off) wireless connections! [I have the number to Time Warner if there's ANOTHER service outage. This is getting old. I shouldn't have to reboot the whole network on a daily basis.]

I also seem to have fallen off the tanka challenge bandwagon. Drat.

Stopped by Payless tonight (what the hell - I'll justify it as stimulating the economy), and found that the Tattoo Airwalks were far too loose - I walked right out of them when I tried them on. But I found black and white plaid-with-fuzzy-velvet roses hi-tops instead, for a sale price. And those will just up the awesome quotient considerably. ^___^

Also, all four pairs of tennis shoes survived their bath. (The dryer, however, is a noisy operation - it sounds like I have a taiko group practicing - badly - in my garage.) So I took two of the four out to air dry and left the other two in. The purple-grey ones seem all right; not as clean as I'd like, but better than they were. The other pair badly needed the bath; they were stinky!

I have awesome tennis shoes, now. MWAHahahah! (Which just cinches the fact I have to wear my pinstripe or plaid newsie cap, to match my shoes...)

Hair... will probably be pigtails, because... because I can, I suppose. and I'm not feeling very creative. I might convince Mom to take the time to French braid it, if she's up and willing. It's long enough, now. (No, I can't braid my own hair pretty-like, I fail as a girl, bite me. It took long enough to learn how to manage a half-decent ponytail. I do not posess the Hair-Fu that usually gets handed out when little girls are put together. I make up for it with stompy boots and slogan tee shirts. Go figure.)

I have not yet cracked open Dalby's book for a re-read; I may just bring it along and hope for an autograph, and pray I remember to actually bring a notebook and pens with me. I'm dumb like that, sometimes.
