Feb. 21st, 2006 03:49 amBack from War - it was really rather sad that most folks dreading rain started praying for it after the second day of dust storms. It still hurts to breathe; I think I have most of Goodyear in my lungs, and what isn't there scoured them out like a desert canyon. :(
Haven't gotten to my mail or much of anything else - I updated once from Puppy's blackberry, which was being a brat about email, so... foo. But we were invited back to the Abbey (a big thing!) and I got many goodbye hugs, so I think we made a good impression. If we didn't, I'll have died in my sleep at the next event, little more than a bloody smear left on the air mattress. So. (Yes, the Abbey is very good at kicking ass, on and off the field.)
Bought a warm coat, 2 sets of garb, and some Bling - I am now officially an Amber Slut in Training. I have a ring, brooch, and earrings in green amber, and a nice long string of cherry amber. I'm also finding that my persona is dressing more Viking and early period Anglo-Saxon than before, primarily Viking. Though I still really REALLY want a long, pretty houpelande, button-down cotehardie (I think that's what I'm thinking of) and all those pretties from the 12th century...
Pictures are pretty thin on the ground; folks frown upon cameras, so most of my shots are general shots of the battlefield, or groups of people at a bit of a distance. I think wanderingbaron.com or .org or something has many many photos, but no one likes him because he gets in people's faces and doesn't ask permission. But you can see pics there, so... double-edged sword, that one.
I have many bumper decals now: "SCA - Don't go postal, get medieval" "Norse, of course" and a nifty celtic-knot-style cat playing with a mouse. Tsuki-chan will be very well decorated, especially after I get several tea decals done at the Block or somewhere in the near future. BWAhahahah!
Saw AlliedVoyd there, too, which threw me for a loop. :) (*waves*) [And getting lost on the way home meant we hit LA first and had to take the Oxy route home. It's a sign!]

Still have to unpack, and the Drama that's unfolding with some acquaintances is starting to irk me, simply because I'm damn tired about hearing about it. (Blargh, leave me to my current middle ages, bitches!)
