Mmm... Giftmas...
Dec. 25th, 2007 05:03 pmSo, not many surprises this year - Mom and I pretty much shopped together so we not only knew what we were getting each other, we set aside the appropriate amounts of boxing/wrapping/etc for each. Silly us.
I *did* however, get an Old Skool (tm) video game from L_S - he found a gizmo at the mall that has a TON of old Nintendo games on it (though I don't know how many [it promises 76000] - the menu interface is a little odd) including the original Mario, and a version of Tetris. And Dig Dug [will SOMEONE tell me how to play that game, please? o.o::]. He was told by the clerk that it played SNES cartridges (not true), but I'm armed with Super Mario World - Just In Case(tm). It CAN, however, apparenlty take the old Nintendo cartridges, so if anyone has the original Tetris or Dr. Mario they don't want, let me know. :P
I have a ton of new kimono goods now - hanhaba obi and obiage and obijime that actually match/complement what I have so I won't look quite so pathetically hodgepodge when I next dress up. I have new jewelry (necklace from L_S and earrings Mom and I picked out in Colorado), a bathrobe that isn't butt-length and threadbare, and a new sweater I can wear to work. Huzzah.
I also got a nifty enameled box that Mom bought and had planned to give me for my birfday, but forgot. It's a kitteh!
[Edit: Totally forgot to add that older half-bro M gave me The Tudor Tailor. ZOMG!Squee!! on that one. (Now, if only I could convince L_S to wear a codpiece...) I can't wait to take sewing class and learn how to actually USE the resources in that book. For now, I must settle for the pretty pictures. (Yes, I will indeed be later-period when I learn to sew that much. For now, 12th century Norman will have to suffice.)
Mom seemed pleased with the surprise I got her (Norwegian phrasebook and Beginner's Norwegian), and I suspect L_S liked the books I picked out. Not sure on the keychain, but hey, it was cute.
