NaNoWriMaybe?

And now onto another subject: writing.
Something I haven't done nearly enough of lately. I have no story plans, nor have I ever, really. (Not kidding, the last time I got anything close to a 'good' idea [read: not bad fanfic], I was in high school.) I do, however, tinker and fidget and scribble until whatever's bouncing around in my brain lands on paper in something-like-story format.
I'm debating NaNoWriMo'ing sideways: not really forward progress, but retyping and editing old work so that it's not only NOT scattered across five notebooks and two Word documents, it's cohesive and makes at least a LITTLE bit of sense. Instead of writing new, I'll polish and paste together some old stuff. Which means that it'd be a weekend project, rather than anything like a daily exercise toward a word count. Hm.
Thoughts? I really want to exercise the creative side of my brain more, but I'm always stuck as to HOW.
[The other option is NaNoGarbMo, where I actually cut out the pieces and sew the $150 worth of fabric designated for a Twelfth Night dress that has yet to be. This also means I have to clean up the fabric/sewing stash enough to find the pattern in the first place. I can't really remember what happened to it. Conversely, I work on sewing several veils and surcotes with the fabric I bought for those purposes, possibly adding some embroidery with the swank new machine. Figuring out the serger threading would be a serious bonus.]
Either way, it's taking on a large and complicated project; I'm more than a little leery of such an undertaking, given my track record in this department. x.x (To date, I don't think I've ever actually finished a project I've started. Ever.)
Maybe I should try NaNoCleanMo. Lord knows I need to clean out my end of the house. ('Creating viable walkways through clutter' isn't exactly a resume skill, however mastered.)
