Conclusion of the day
Jul. 18th, 2006 12:40 pmI am overpaid and underworked. (If you believe most of those online salary calculators, anyway.)
[And this really should sit better with me as a situation.]
Really - it's aggravating, because there's NO job security in it - I'm not only a temp, there are hundreds (or more) out there who would take 2/3 of my hourly wage for twice the workload.
And dammit, it'd be nice to find that hey, there isn't all this down time to stare at the computer screen. Or that I don't have all this direct supervision nonsense, just a list of things to do. Quietly, NOT at the front desk.
And yet, I'm seriously considering putting in for temp-to-hire (though the overtime much of the staff seems to put in is off-putting; if it can't be done in 8 hours in one day, there needs to be a re-evaluation of priorities and staffing. Seriously.)
