So, clearly finances and I don't get along well. That much is patently obvious from my inability to make the Visa gods happy with me. (To my credit, no late payment yet, and always more than minimum, but... pay some off, then get stuck needing to put some back on... slippery slope, that.) Doesn't help that it's been an expensive month.

To that end, and the fact that I'm doing better (enough that I can come home and do something other than sleep, cry, or drink), PLEASE help me figure out some ways of making more money with my free time. And something other than those free surveys, because, well... they're annoying. I'm thinking things like working on sewing projects to sell for reasonably cheap, etc. [I know better than to babysit, and we've proven that house-sitting or pet-sitting is not a paid position around here.] Beyond that, though, I'm rather stuck for ideas - most anything I can come up with includes driving around town more than I'd like or purchasing a lot of supplies (this includes things like eBay, which a) means I need stuff to sell and b) have to make it to a PO during business hours). So.

I'm tempted to make more tea vests with what I have on hand, and charge $20/ea, because hey, I have a buttload of random cotton prints lying around that need using, desperately. And with the serger working, it's a matter of cutting triangles and sewing W-S together, turning, then making straps and adding elastic and velcro. Really not hard. I may even expand into o-keiko clothing, if I can get the lady at Moore's to show me how to set up for a cover stitch. (And if not, it's still not all that hard to serge, then sew.) I mean, I have the how-to book (albeit in Japanese). Hell, if I invest $15 in some Woolly thread, I can do decorative rolled hems without any additional equipment needed. Pretty sweet, that.

What I would love to do is sew dog/pet clothes, but I'll need to invest in patterns, first, to get things sorted - the three Pekes we have are probably not good examples of doggy proportions, given that they're all torso with no neck, nose, or legs. Hm...

I think the most aggravating thing of all this is that there is SO MUCH I want to do, or do more of, or learn, and every last bit of it costs money. Ugh.

[And of course, I could always just put up a paypal link and shamelessly beg, because I'm running out of pride anyway.]

And if worse comes to worse, I'm going to post a 'for sale' list on the BPAL comms and pray. :(
